Presenter (S6) described quarterly expectations for each grade (for example, a kindergarten quarter expectation might describe counting to 20 in one quarter and to 40 in a later quarter) so parents can see growth at shorter intervals. "So to make the progress, clear to parents, now we have quarterly expectations for all the grade levels," the presenter said.
In response to a question about how report cards relate to standardized test scores, staff (S4) and presenters said the numeric ratings and the analytics platform will allow the district to drill into performance by power standard and by student (for example, producing average scores such as 3.12) to support instructional planning and conversations with families. The presenters said the intent is to make interim communications, phone calls and notifications align with what appears on the report card so all messages reflect the same expectations.
