Council hears that Trout Lake lacks a fire evacuation plan; smoke workshop and plan review scheduled

Aaron raised concerns about wildfire evacuation planning: "is there a fire/evacuation plan for trout lake? There really isn’t one," he said, noting the county does not designate fixed evacuation routes because danger sources vary. The council discussed how to support vulnerable residents, what to do if the community becomes cut off from county resources and the need to review local emergency plans.
Joanna agreed to print and circulate copies of the Trout Lake emergency plan for the next meeting. The council also publicized a smoke workshop at The Grange on Sept. 4 (6–8 p.m.) intended to improve household preparedness and awareness of local resources. Members noted outreach to at-risk households and how to coordinate in scenarios where access to or from the community is constrained.
