Trout Lake council to help lead local parks plan and weigh solar‑ordinance outreach

Pat Arnold updated the council on a local parks and recreation planning effort, saying planning staff and county commissioners have given consent for the council to work on a parks plan focused on local recreation rather than tourism or land‑use changes.

Arnold said Sarah Allaben plans to attend community council meetings to assist outreach. He also flagged that Klickitat County's solar ordinance was highlighted in a solar industry trade article, prompting interest from large solar companies that object to the ordinance's restrictions; some residents in the county's energy/solar overlay zone told the council they think the ordinance is not strict enough. Pat Arnold said public outreach is needed to gather resident input on the recreation survey and the solar policy conversation.
