Board awards $44,178 pickup bid from Rotman's for FY26 fleet replacement

Jackson County staff told the board Aug. 12 that replacement of the county's FY26 pickup fleet required adjusting specifications so trucks could be obtained more quickly from dealer inventories rather than requiring six-plus months to build to order. Staff said revising the spec to a more common trim made several vehicles available and reduced cost.
The county received low bids and recommended awarding the contract to Rotman's (Rotman Motors) for $44,178. A second dealer, Tills, provided an available vehicle priced at $48,910 and a 6–8 week option at $46,115. The board approved awarding the single FY26 pickup to Rotman's; staff said they would issue a short rebid to acquire an additional truck if necessary.
“Robins have historically been our awarded bidder for trucks,” the presenter said while explaining lead‑time and specification changes. The motion to approve the low bid pickup as presented passed by voice vote.
