County Treasurer Beth Gerlach presented the Jackson County semiannual report for Jan.–June 2025, explaining the reconciliation of daily balances, bank accounts and invested accounts that produced a reconciled total of $14,147,007.80.
"The $14,147,007.80 ... is the number that's there," Gerlach said while walking supervisors through spreadsheets the auditors will review. She told the board the recent title and registration fee increases implemented in January generated unanticipated revenue: auto-registration fees were up roughly $30,000 for the six-month period and title-related processing volumes and fees rose substantially compared with the prior year.
Gerlach also summarized daily balance sheets and bank reconciliations required by state auditors and compared the county's vehicle transaction volumes year-over-year, noting a sizable increase in titles issued and transactions.
The board voted to accept the semiannual report, and signatures were recorded as required for publication.
