In his manager's report, the Town Manager presented Resolution No. 2026-04, a nonbinding measure expressing support for NCDOT project R-5909. Commissioner Scott Winebarger moved to approve the resolution; Commissioner Richie Parker seconded and the motion passed unanimously (Vote: 4/0).
The Board also reappointed Gray Garrison to the Tourism Development Authority for a one-year term. Commissioner Monta Davis-Oliver moved for reappointment, Commissioner Chris Matthews seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner Chris Matthews also used the commissioner-comments time to thank staff for their work at the July 4 event. "Commissioner Matthews thanked staff for their hard work at the July 4th event," the record states. The Board recorded both actions as unanimous votes with administrative follow-up tasks assigned to transmit the resolution and record the appointment.
