Kenilworth public works reports storm response success, unveils coordinated planter program

Superintendent of Public Works Donald Leicht reported that recent storms challenged sewer capacity but the system "functioned effectively," and that clogged catch basins were cleared to address localized flooding. He said flood-control work on Woodstock Avenue worked as expected and that crews were monitoring remaining issues.
Leicht introduced a new collaborative plan with the Kenilworth Park District and the Kenilworth Council of Garden Clubs to contract a single vendor to coordinate planting and maintenance of village planters. The proposal calls for Contained Garden and consultant Bridget Schroeder to manage a comprehensive plan for planting and cultivation; Leicht said he was excited about the projected results.
