Kenilworth names Lars Djuvik to Plan Commission, approves $27,500 sidewalk contract via MPI

The Kenilworth Village Board on March 16 appointed Lars Djuvik to the Plan Commission for a term running March 2026 through March 2029 and authorized a resolution permitting use of Municipal Partnering Initiative (MPI) pricing with Everlast Blacktop Inc. for the 2026 Sidewalk Replacement Program in the amount of $27,500. The omnibus bundle also included a resolution releasing the Village from the surety bond requirement for work upon state roadways within the Village.
President Cecily Kaz asked whether any Trustees wanted items removed from omnibus consideration; none did. "She then asked for a motion to authorize the resolutions as stated and make the appointment," and Trustee John Gottschall moved the omnibus action, which the Board approved by roll call 5-0. Resident David Joyce asked whether the Plan Commission appointment was filling a vacancy; President Kaz answered his question during the omnibus discussion.
