Board confirms hires, rescinds two earlier appointments and approves leaves and stipends

At its July 21 meeting the Woodland Park Board of Education approved a package of personnel motions (226-29 through 226-40) by unanimous roll call.
The board voted to rescind prior appointments of Bettina Rosario and Jessica Zarnick and to appoint new staff including Sydonni Davis as an ELA teacher at Memorial, Samira Perez as a Pre‑K teacher and Sarah Feher as an art teacher; each appointment is listed as BA, Step 1 with an annual salary of $62,805 effective Sept. 1, 2025. The board also approved a leave of absence without pay or benefits for Monica Piedra for the 2025–2026 school year and appointed part-time custodians Michael Gallo and Clara Guzman at $30.00 per hour (not to exceed 27.5 hours per week).
The personnel motion included a list of staff stipends for 2025–2026, notably an Art Show stipend of $500 for Sarah Feher and House Leader pay recorded at $48/hr. for Dounia Omran. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with seven yes votes.
