The director told trustees the library has signed a contract to migrate from the Verso online catalog to Koha, with a projected go'live date of September 23. She said the migration will require collection weeding and catalog cleanup and that much of the migration will be handled by the service provider''data will be uploaded and migrated by the vendor rather than entered manually by staff.
The director said the change is intended to let patrons see holdings in neighboring libraries and reduce the need for separate HomeCard registration: "So now everyone will be able to see everything...our patrons will be seen at other libraries," she said. Trustees were told the migration provides a longer runway for housekeeping tasks before the September transition.
