The Chair said the board would later use a voting process to pick top priorities and asked members to consider which strengths to build on, including the library''s building and staff expertise.
Members identified specific weaknesses and threats they want the plan to address. Concerns included limited in'person library card sign'up as an accessibility barrier, the need for a clearer marketing strategy and budget, security and disruptive-patron issues, and pressure from city budget constraints. One member said the board must consider how growth in the city "means we are serving more and more people" and that resources must keep pace. The board scheduled a later prioritization step in which members will allocate votes to top items.
