Council approves FY27 budget resolutions, reserve use and forwards budgets to voters

The South Burlington City Council unanimously approved a package of budget-related resolutions on Jan. 12, voting to use reserve fund balance for capital projects and to forward the capital improvement program and FY27 general and enterprise fund budgets to the steering committee and the voters.
Councilor 3 moved to approve Resolution 2026-01 (use of fund balance) and the motion passed by voice vote. The council then approved Resolutions 2026-02 (amend the capital improvement program) and 2026-03 (approve FY27 budget and enterprise funds) to be sent to the steering committee and included on the March ballot. The council also voted to warn the ballot language for Town Meeting Day; staff will correct a numeric typo that city attorneys later flagged in the posted warning before publication.
