The board approved a contract with Retail Coach to assist the EDC in recruiting retail and entertainment tenants for downtown Anna. Staff said Retail Coach will help the city pursue unique restaurants and entertainment venues to enhance downtown activity.
The staff presenter explained that the focus this year will include entertainment expos and relationship‑based outreach rather than some traditional trade shows. “Instead of ICSC, I think we have done a really good job recruiting the national tenants, and, where we are lacking in our market is entertainment,” the presenter said when describing the firm’s role.
The board moved, seconded and approved the professional services agreement by voice vote with no recorded opposition. Staff indicated Retail Coach will support downtown redevelopment outreach and site‑recruitment activities in the coming year.
