Chair reports county approval for Big Rigs; board clears agenda, minutes and other actions

Chairman Chris Klein reported that the Big Rigs project passed at the county level and includes a turnaround; the board approved the meeting agenda and Oct. 1, 2024 minutes and recorded several land-use approvals and adjourned.
Chairman Chris Klein opened the Jan. 7, 2025 meeting of the Silver Creek Township Planning & Zoning Commission and reported that the Big Rigs project had passed at the county level, and that the approved plans include a turnaround at the first (west) Big Rigs entrance.
Early in the meeting Member Mike Helman moved to approve the agenda; Member Brandon Geyen seconded and the motion carried 9-0. Member Justin Hall moved to approve the Oct. 1, 2024 minutes; Member Tom Vanek seconded and that motion also carried 9-0. The board then considered New Business items, approving a variance for Zeigler Custom Homes (carried 8-0 with one abstention) and two parcel/entitlement transfers for Darryle Anderson (each carried 9-0). Member Justin Hall moved to adjourn; Member Tom Vanek seconded and the meeting was recessed/adjourned per the minutes.
The meeting minutes list no further conditions, reports, or unresolved tasks; routine permitting, recording, or other administrative follow-up is expected to proceed under township and county processes.
