The Yadkinville Board of Commissioners on June 26 approved special appropriations totaling $137,000 for local nonprofit organizations. The approved allocations were: YMCA $42,500; Northwestern Regional Library $5,000; Yadkin Arts Council $15,000; Hands of Hope $10,000; YVEDDI Senior Center $4,500; Friends of Downtown Yadkinville $10,000; and Yadkin County Economic Development Partnership $50,000. Commissioner Monta Davis-Oliver moved to approve the appropriations; Commissioner Chris Matthews seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
The appropriations were considered as part of a continued public hearing on the FY2026-27 special allocations. The board did not record any public opposition in the minutes; the funds will be disbursed per standard town appropriation procedures.
