Kincaid board approves multiple equipment purchases, GPS system and grocery sales tax ordinance

The village board approved several operational and procurement items during the meeting. Mayor Pezze summarized vendor terms for a vehicle GPS system at $12 per vehicle per month and reported the equipment would be owned by the village after a one-year contract; Trustee Paso moved to place the trackers in two squad cars and two pickups and Jaeger seconded. The motion passed ('All ayes').
Trustees also approved a garage-door repair for safety reasons after Broccardo moved and Jaeger seconded the motion. A pressure-washer vendor reduced an original price to $6,295 and Paso moved to approve the purchase; Dees seconded and the board approved the buy. The board authorized purchasing a $799 pole saw (with extra battery) for lake maintenance from lake funds after Trustee Dees moved and Jaeger seconded. Separately, Pezze asked the board to adopt a 1% municipal grocery sales tax to replace a state-funded program that will expire; Trustee Paso moved to adopt the ordinance and Jaeger seconded; the vote was unanimous.
The board also approved an extension of the water contract with Jeisyville that continues current terms and a two percent annual rate increase at the beginning of the year, contingent on the other party signing the new agreement.
