Board discusses but tables offers to buy village-adjacent lots and trailer cleanup
Summary
Trustees discussed two property matters: a $40,000 asking price for a parcel near the water tower (Frank Maras) and an offer of $20,000 from Argo for property used as the village trash pile (trailers included). Trustees voted to table both items pending cost analysis and committee review.

Mayor Pezze reported Mike approached the village about selling property near the water tower for $40,000; trustees questioned the value and noted the village has used similar parcels for storage of rock and equipment. Trustees expressed reluctance to spend that amount from village funds and agreed to defer the decision.
On a separate parcel, Argo told the board he would accept $20,000 for the lot where the village’s trash pile and several nonlivable trailers sit, and he suggested the village could pursue grant funding to help remove and remediate the site. Trustees discussed costs of removing trailers and cleanup logistics and voted to table the item until the next committee meeting so staff can gather estimates and possible grant avenues.
