The board voted to hire a part‑time office assistant to give the village clerk scheduled coverage for lunches, errands and absences. Mayor Pezze proposed a three‑day arrangement (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) with the candidate working approximately 12 hours per week; the finance committee recommended starting pay at $16.50 per hour. Trustee Nelson moved to hire the assistant at $16.50/hour, not to exceed 19 hours per week, and Broccardo seconded the motion; trustees voted unanimously in favor.
Trustees and the clerk discussed posting the job and the hiring process; Attorney Rahar advised posting the position like a standard employment opening rather than a bid. Clerk Jayme said the hours 9 a.m.–1 p.m. would ensure coverage while she takes lunch or bank/post office errands.
