County ends three contracts as federal grant funding expires Sept. 30

Community Corrections Director Jeff Kilpatrick told the board that federal grant funding from the Office of Justice Programs ends Sept. 30, 2026, requiring termination of three contracts: C-26-0010 with Fresh Start Inc. and C-26-0099 with Sober Houses of Nebraska LLC (both for transitional housing), and C-24-0331 with the Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska for evaluation of the Adult Drug Court Program. Kilpatrick said responsibility for the Adult Drug Court Program has been transferred to the State of Nebraska. The board voted 4-0 to approve the terminations.
