San Elizario ISD budget workshop highlights salary-equity approval requirement and Health Fund reporting request

District budget staff Elizabeth Perez and Gina Ramirez presented a draft 2025–26 budget during the special meeting on May 21 and fielded questions from trustees. Board President Eduardo Chavez asked whether salaries and stipends could be broken down by account number; Chavez also asked whether salary equity adjustments could be made by administration or required board approval. "Current regulations require the board to approve all salary equity adjustments," Ms. Gina Ramirez stated.
Chavez requested that the Health Fund be presented separately during the scheduled budget adoption meeting so trustees can review it distinct from other budget lines. The workshop included two handouts referenced in the district minutes and concluded without a formal vote; a budget adoption is scheduled for a Special Board Meeting on June 18, 2025.
