As part of Ordinance 1073, the boroughc2s proposed nuisance chapter would add a new subsection establishing noise controls for fitness studios and indoor recreation. Chair Adam Brown read the proposal language explaining the noise-control subsection and decibel bands by time of day: "objectionable noises due to intermittence for beat frequency or shrillness shall be muffled so as not to become a nuisance."
The ordinance also proposes maximum storefront widths (40 ft for commercial, 65 ft for mixed-use), and an entrance-count rule requiring an additional entrance door for every additional 20 feet of facade width. Commissioners discussed how those rules would limit clustering of uses and how the first 12 feet of depth rule interacts with storefront design.
