Comal County accepts Texas Historical Commission stewardship award and $2,000 gift

Comal County officials announced the county was selected for the Texas Land Title Association award presented at the Texas Historical Commission event for outstanding courthouse preservation.
A county presenter noted the award recognizes maintenance and preservation “in its original configuration” and that the prize included a $2,000 monetary award from the Friends of the Texas Historical Commission. Mr. Bayless and courthouse maintenance staff were recognized; Mr. Mills thanked presenters and staff for their work maintaining the courthouse’s appearance. The court voted to accept the monetary gift and thanked the historical commission for the recognition.
The gift will be accepted into county records per the court’s motion and authorization to accept the award.
