Comal County court approves $1.665 million in claims, accepts treasurer’s March report

County Treasurer Renee Couch presented the March 2026 monthly report and said she had added a line showing total bank balances and collateral. “Our money market is currently running at a 3.54,” Couch said, and she noted the county’s year-to-date interest income and recent purchases, including a two-year Federal Home Loan Bank security at 4.19% as part of the county’s investment approach. Couch said the county’s deposits with Frost Bank were collateralized above the required level.
The court approved the treasurer’s report on a motion by Commissioner Webb with a second from Commissioner Crownover. The court’s approvals of claims and the treasurer’s report were routine votes and carried without recorded opposition.
