The San Elizario ISD Board recognized a series of student and staff achievements during its May 14 meeting.
Mr. Josue Palomino recognized Ann M. Garcia-Enriquez Middle School Spanish Spelling Bee winners. Ms. Flor Sanchez recognized San Elizario High School Class of 2025 Migrant Program graduates including Jonathan Muñoz and Jariel Espinoza. Mr. Cesar Morales acknowledged athletic accomplishments — noting Genesis Rubio as a UIL state qualifier in track, district championships for golf, softball (three consecutive years), and tennis, and recognized Angel Gonzalez as Softball District Coach of the Year.
Ms. Sandra Sanchez recognized Career & Technical Education competitors in SkillsUSA, Business Professionals of America and HOSA, and students who earned Health Sciences certifications (EMT or Patient Care Technician). Dr. Jeannie Meza-Chavez and Mr. Horacio Hernandez recognized Melissa Urenda, the district PEIMS coordinator, for her work on Ed-Fi integration. The board also named Samantha Delgado Teacher of the Month and Marian Soto Employee of the Month at Josefa L. Sambrano Elementary School and recognized recipients of Teacher Incentive Allotment designations.
