The Comal County Commissioner's Court approved a series of proclamations honoring local economic development (May 4–8, 2026), National Correctional Officers and Employees Week (May 2026), National Prevention Week (May 2026) and a Texas Historical Commission marker recognizing Dittlinger Village (La Calera). The motions to approve each proclamation were made and seconded by commissioners and carried without objection.
Representatives from the Greater New Braunfels Chamber and local prevention coalition (Drug Free Comal, part of Connections Individual and Family Services) addressed the court to accept proclamations and describe their programs. A historical commission representative invited the public to a marker celebration at the Sophienburg Museum and Archives at 11 a.m. on 05/02/2026.
