Committee approves survey results and forwards draft plan to planning and zoning

The Wildwood Master Plan Advisory Committee voted to forward the consultant’s survey results and draft master‑plan materials to the Planning and Zoning Commission for its required public hearing and action. The motion to move the materials forward was made and seconded and passed by majority vote.
Joe, the Department of Planning representative, told the committee the July survey “received just over 300 responses,” and he and staff framed the survey as a validation step before sending a final draft on to the commission. Consultant Debbie Ward of SilverTablet Marketing presented the results and responded to members’ questions about ZIP‑code breakdowns and open‑ended responses. Ward said the survey’s section 3 combines quantitative question results with qualitative analysis of open responses.
Committee members held a short round‑table comparing the survey results with their local observations before the vote. After discussion, Chair Rauten moved the draft forward; the motion passed. The department said the planning & zoning public hearing will follow the open house scheduled for Sept. 7, and committee members will next meet on Aug. 25 to review the final draft before it goes to the commission.
