Seguin ISD trustees approve November financials, investment report and truancy grant resolution

Seguin ISD’s Board of Trustees on Jan. 23 approved a package of financial and reporting items covering November 2024 and the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2024, including proposed budget amendments for the General Fund, Child Nutrition Fund and Debt Service Fund, and the district’s investment report.
Trustee Grace Mueller moved to approve the consent agenda, excluding one donation item pulled for discussion; the motion, seconded by Trustee Alejandro R. Guerra, passed unanimously. The board accepted the Guadalupe County Tax Office monthly recap for December 2024 and acknowledged Public Information Act requests received since Dec. 6, 2024. The board also approved a resolution authorizing application for the Office of the Governor Truancy Prevention Grant.
Board members heard the new format for monthly financial statements from Elizabeth Oaks, the district’s chief financial officer, and received an update on vendor responses to recent RFPs and purchases exceeding $50,000. No separate public comment was recorded on the financial items. The consent vote was recorded as Ayes: Bright, Burns, Crettenden, Duncan, Dwyer, Guerra and Mueller; Nays: None.
