County officials noted the proposal would lower the rate from the current 0.440000 to 0.423077 per $100 taxable value; the presiding officer read the statutorily required notice and asked whether anyone in the audience wished to comment. After one commenter addressed sheriff-related pay, the court moved on and adjourned the hearing to reconvene for the regular meeting at 9:00 a.m.
