Traill County WRD approves $201,255.79 bond for Bridge No. 55; closing set Aug. 14

The Traill County Water Resource District voted Aug. 4 to approve a resolution authorizing issuance of $201,255.79 in Maintenance Levy Improvement Bonds, Series 2026B, to finance Bridge No. 55 on Nelson Drain No. 28. Bond counsel Katie Schmidt reviewed the resolution; Manager Jason Lovas moved to approve it and the motion carried unanimously.
Engineers reported that Riverview approved the John Riley Construction bid as required by the parties’ Joint Powers Agreement, enabling the district to proceed with awarding the construction contract. The board noted the bond closing is scheduled for Aug. 14, 2026. The district’s action authorizes closing and the financing necessary for immediate contract execution and construction work tied to Bridge No. 55.
