Cheryl Doble said the Committee is seeking a point of contact for communications with the Town Administrator and Select Board; Joe LaCivita offered himself as that contact. Members raised the prospect of hiring a Recreation Director to work with the Committee.
On staffing, Joe LaCivita said he "wouldn’t discount the possibility, but that the Town did not have the funds to create a new position of this sort," and noted the Department of Public Works was short five positions. CD suggested exploring a shared recreation position with neighboring Oak Bluffs.
The Committee asked Joe to serve as the Committee's point of contact while exploring shared-position options and noted that the Town's staffing constraints may limit near-term hiring.
