Barbara Lampson displayed a conceptual drawing for Lagoon Harbor Park sited between the bike path and the lagoon and urged shoreline cleanup to make the site pleasant for visitors. She said Vineyard Wind "has provided the Town with $400,000 in exchange for taking land on the harbor side across from Wind’s Up," and that Committee discussions recommended coordinating the park's development with the Town's seawall reconstruction and ongoing resiliency planning.
Joe LaCivita said he would review the documentation that accompanied the Vineyard Wind funding so the Committee and Town could confirm conditions or expectations attached to the money. Sakiko Isomichi noted resiliency-focused planning and data collection already occurring along the corridor from Five Corners to the bridge and said she was meeting with Phil Wallis to discuss waterfront plans.
The Committee requested that Town staff confirm the terms attached to the Vineyard Wind contribution and explore how park development could align with seawall work and resiliency priorities.
