Gerard Hokanson summarized CPC-funded work completed in 2023–24 and described the scope of proposed work at Veterans Memorial Park, saying the stormwater management plan is roughly a $1 million effort and recreational utilities/landscaping improvements are estimated at $1.3 million.
GH recommended coordinating the park stormwater plan with the Town's broader stormwater planning. "It was focused on a stormwater management plan (estimated cost $1 million) and an improvement in the recreational utilities and landscaping within the park (estimated cost $1.3 million)," he said. The Committee discussed the need to identify outside funding sources given the Town's competing capital needs.
Town Administrator Joe LaCivita told the Committee that an incoming administrative assistant will have experience identifying grants and helping with grant-writing; he also said he had a pending conversation planned with Congressman Keating's office about Veteran's Park and other projects. Sakiko Isomichi offered to help with stormwater projects and noted ongoing contacts with MassDOT on related corridor planning.
