Tisbury committee details Lake Street Park upgrades and PARC grant options

CW said the Committee is pursuing a Massachusetts PARC grant and relayed the state program's conditions: "The PARC grant is reimbursement-based - the Town will need to fund the full cost of the proposed project, then seek reimbursement after work is complete (52% of total, up to $418,000 at present)." She also said a positive Town Meeting vote before the end of the calendar year of grant submission and a deed restriction dedicating the land to recreation were required for eligibility; CW offered to obtain suggested wording from Mass. Department of Conservation Services staff and forward it to Town Administrator Joe LaCivita for review with the Town attorney.
Joe LaCivita said he would review the wording with the Town attorney and encouraged the Committee to prepare documentation; he also agreed to photograph playground equipment offered for donation by the West Chop Club so the Committee could evaluate reuse.
The Committee identified next steps: obtain grant-compliant deed-restriction language, confirm Town Meeting scheduling needs for PARC eligibility, and scope local funding capacity since PARC operates on a reimbursement basis.
