Residents press township on development, bulkheads, flooding and speeding

Ms. Amonica of South Ensign Drive asked about persistent flooding and a sinking bulkhead; Township Engineer Jason Worth said the drainage system had been replaced two years ago and his office would investigate temporary fixes such as tide valves. Township Attorney Melanie Appleby noted the newly adopted bulkhead ordinance provides the township authority to place liens and take corrective action on properties with failing bulkheads.
Multiple residents raised speeding on Center Street; Ms. Prinzo and others thanked the police for deploying digital speed signs. Mr. Versheck, president of the Little Egg Harbor Concerned Citizens Association, said the association "strongly opposes the Lennar Project" and will circulate petitions; Mrs. Versheck raised concerns about emergency response times if large new developments are added. Residents also asked about repaving and drainage on Atlantis Boulevard and questioned the timeline for proposed traffic lights near George J. Mitchell School; Township Engineer Worth said some projects were isolated to neighborhood drainage systems and a signal project is likely in 2027.
