Engineer reports drainage progress; township authorizes Radio Road design services and seeks DOT/State grant actions
Summary
Township Engineer Jason Worth reported progress on Mystic Island Drainage Phase 4 and upcoming road milling and paving; the committee authorized T&M Associates for Radio Road sidewalk concept and design and approved a CDBG budget insertion of $45,000 and a request to extend an NJDOT award deadline for Radio Road pedestrian safety work.
Township Engineer Jason Worth updated the committee June 11 on drainage and roadwork and the township approved related grant and engineering steps.
Worth said Mystic Island Drainage Phase 4 is nearly complete for concrete work, with Mathis Construction and Paving Plus performing the work. He reported additional road milling and paving starting next week on North & South Commodore, North & South Forecastle, South Longboat and Staysail Drive, and later South Captains and West Playhouse; the Township will seek reimbursement from Ocean County for eligible work. Worth also reported plans for Atlantis Boulevard drainage replacement and possible submission of a Municipal Aid grant to the New Jersey Department of Transportation by late June/early July. BRS Inc., a township grant writer, will submit a Shoreline Restoration and Stabilization grant for Ohio Drive on Osborn Island.
Separately, the committee authorized an agreement with T&M Associates for concept development and final design of the Radio Road sidewalk improvement project and approved a resolution to seek a six-month extension of the NJDOT award deadline for the "LTPF-2024-Pedestrian Safety Improvements to Radio Road" grant.
