Board reviews Depot preservation needs as MERP grant costs rise

Trustee Mary Rogers provided an update on the MERP grant and preservation work at the Depot and municipal garage, saying two weatherization proposals were accepted and that HVAC work remains the largest cost item.
Rogers thanked volunteers and partners including Bob Madeiros, Neil Kenyon, fire department volunteers and Bill Christian for assistance. She said budgets and schedules are still being refined and that total costs will likely exceed the grant; Callie Fishburn of BCRC is assisting to determine whether Efficiency Vermont can provide additional support.
Trustee David Shaughnessy will meet with HVAC installation personnel for additional plan verification. Separately, Rogers said she will review the Voltrek EV station contract renewal and maintenance rates for the village charging station.
