Committee introduces $1.2 million bond ordinance for modular DPW building

Ordinance 2026-12 would appropriate $1,200,000 and authorize issuance of $1,140,000 in bonds and notes to finance construction of a multi-section modular building to replace older structures on the DPW yard. Committee members said the unit would house administrative staff and provide a break room for employees; the old buildings would be demolished after utilities and parking are addressed. Township Engineer Jason Worth described the proposed structure as "a triple wide 32 feet by 75 feet" and said utility hookups and additional parking will be required.
The ordinance was introduced by a unanimous roll call; further hearings and a second reading will be required before the bond issuance can proceed. Resident speakers raised questions during public comment elsewhere in the meeting about the DPW building's location and total cost; the committee responded that the building must remain at the existing yard due to equipment and yard location.
