Ordinance 2026-08 amends Chapter 159 (Construction Codes, Uniform) to modify certain fees charged under the township's construction code system. The committee opened the ordinance to public comment; no members of the public spoke. The motion to adopt was made by Committeeman Kehm and seconded by Committeewoman Carrara; the roll call recorded Carrara, Kehm, Maxwell and Scibetta voting yes and Mayor Kenneth Laney abstaining.
Ordinance 2026-10 revises Chapter 151 (Bulkhead Construction). The ordinance broadens the township's enforcement options, including a mechanism to place a lien on properties with failing bulkheads and to effect repairs when owners do not act. The ordinance was opened to public comment with no speakers; it passed on a roll call vote with Mayor Laney recorded as abstaining.
Ordinance 2026-11 is a salary/compensation ordinance that establishes salary ranges for township employees. When resident Ms. Prinzo of Center Street asked what the compensation ordinance covered, Township Attorney Melanie Appleby explained, "it is a salary ordinance that sets the ranges for employee salaries." The ordinance was adopted after a public hearing; roll-call showed all committee members voting in favor on final adoption.
The committee followed standard procedure: second readings and recorded roll-call votes were taken on the three items. The ordinances will become effective according to statutory notice and filing requirements.
