County approves 50/50 cooperative project with Wickson Creek SUD to improve County Road 175 and install waterline

John Stiver (Road & Bridge) presented a cooperative project with Wickson Creek Special Utility District to address safety and infrastructure needs on County Road 175, a heavily trafficked road serving King Oaks subdivision, Panther Creek Estates and about 50 other residences and businesses. He described the plan as a roughly 50/50 cost-share in which the utility district funds the water line and the county provides labor and equipment; the project would create an 80-foot cleared right-of-way and address a problematic 90-degree curve.
Stiver asked the court to approve the agreement and to authorize the county judge to execute right-of-way and waterline-easement dedications as property owners convey land to support the project. Commissioners approved the agreement, authorized the judge's signatory and approved a process to accept dedicated easements so the project could proceed without needing the court to sign off on each parcel-level instrument.
