Maybrook DPW plans paving, well rehabilitation and museum repairs; chlorine containment units on order

Village Clerk David Griffith delivered a range of public-works updates on June 15. Work tied to insurance repairs of the Government Center and floor work in the Railroad Museum is ongoing; drywall repairs to the basement are scheduled after floor work completes and museum contents will be temporarily moved to allow access.
Griffith said the village has installed chemical-spill containment pallets per a DOH inspection and has three custom chlorine containment units on order. The DPW plans well rehabilitation (Aquafeed process on Well 6; Aqua Gard treatment on Well 7) and plumbing work on Well 5’s treatment building.
On paving, core sampling showed high clay content in Broadway; as a result the plan changed from milling and Nova Chip to full-depth reclamation, grading and concrete stabilization from Homestead Avenue to Maiden Lane, with other streets slated for less intensive work dependent on asphalt pricing and grant availability. Griffith said the village is coordinating grant-funded drainage work on Prospect Avenue with curb and paving schedules.
Clerk Griffith also noted Kyle (DPW) is attending a NYSDOH grade 2B water certification class and staff expect to complete several maintenance tasks this summer.
