Cassidy read the introductory resolution and the Board voted 4–0 to introduce the local law and assume lead-agency status under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR).
The resolution notes the Board’s determination that the proposed action is an "unlisted action" under SEQR (citing the thresholds in 6 NYCRR 617.4 and 617.5) and sets a public hearing for July 20, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. The law will also be referred to the Maybrook Fire Department for review before further action.
Trustees said the measures aim to keep routes clear for emergency vehicles and address recurring parking issues on narrow streets. The Board instructed the clerk to publish the required legal notice and circulate the draft local law to the fire department for comment.
