The Village of Maybrook on May 4 hired Jacquelline Welch as a part‑time police officer after a recommendation from Chief Dennis Barnett.
Barnett described Welch as a veteran officer with extensive training and said she will handle policy, events, senior meetings and juvenile detective work. Trustee Willaim Treco moved to hire Welch and Trustee Daryl Capozzoli seconded; the board approved the hire 5 Ayes, 0 Nays.
Chief Barnett also said he looks forward to working with Welch toward accreditation for the department. The hire follows routine personnel procedures and was approved without dissent.
