Maybrook sets hydrant-flushing dates and DPW summer hours; officials warn about grease in drains

The Board approved hydrant flushing from April 20 through May 15, 2026, and adopted summer DPW hours effective April 13 through November 20, 2026 (Monday–Thursday 7 A.M.–4 P.M., Friday 7 A.M.–11 A.M.). Both measures passed on unanimous 5–0 votes.
Chief Dennis Barnett and Engineer Sean Hoffman reported recent grease buildup in village drains and pledged monitoring. Hoffman said the village promised the DEC it would monitor a manhole at the former Yellow site (now R & L), and that crews will not permit sewer connections until the applicant provides DEC permits. Officials said the DPW will also coordinate paving with neighboring municipalities to minimize contractor mobilizations.
