Leahy also touted economic-development progress: "The Village was awarded a $25 million NYS F.A.S.T. Grant for the Galaxy Project—one of the highest awards given statewide and notably awarded to a village," he said. He noted roughly 3,150 residents and about 1,040 households in the Village and pushed back on pejorative social-media characterizations, citing statements on social media that called the board "fiscally criminal" and the village a "barren community" as opinions rather than facts.
