The Village of Maybrook Board of Trustees voted on Feb. 18 to increase the parkland fee charged to developers from $1,000 to $3,000 as part of the municipal fee schedule.
Engineer Sean Hoffman presented fee comparisons from three municipalities showing ranges of $1,500 to $3,500. Attorney Liz Cassidy advised the board she would revisit the Payment in Lieu of Parks wording to ensure it conforms with state law; the board can adopt the higher fee through its fee schedule.
"Motion by Trustee Giannico, seconded by Deputy Mayor Woznick to increase the Parkland Fee to $3,000.00. 4 Ayes, 0 Nays," the minutes record.
The change revises the amount developers would pay in lieu of land dedication; the transcript does not list an effective date beyond the board’s approval or provide a projected revenue estimate from the fee increase.
