Sanilac County approves claims, hires and several small purchases; authorizes repairs

At its Sept. 2 meeting, the Sanilac County Board of Commissioners approved routine finance and procurement items included on the consent agenda.
The board approved payment of current claims identified on the accounts payable report dated Aug. 26, 2025, totaling $191,319.53. Personnel actions included authorization to post and fill an Information Technology director position at pay grade 12 (with permission to partner with an outside entity or hire contract help if needed), authorization to post and fill a part‑time dispatcher at pay grade 7 (three‑month training), and authorization to post and fill a Court Clerk 3 position with up to 50 training hours paid at the stated rate.
The board also approved emergency parts and repair to a backup generator for the sheriff’s office at a cost not to exceed $7,659.76 and authorized payment to Powder’s Truck and Auto for vehicle repair at $7,444.53. The board awarded a landscaping bid for 171 Dawson Street not to exceed $23,008.59 with ARPA funds and authorized the treasurer to purchase a 2025 Ford F‑150 not to exceed $43,000 from the tax foreclosure fund. All items were approved with motions and voice votes recorded in the minutes.
Chair asked for any discussion on these routine items; none was offered and the items carried by voice vote.
