Board approves small increases to child safety and violence‑prevention contracts

The board amended the county Child Abuse Prevention Council professional services agreement by increasing funding by an amount not to exceed $16,000 to expand the MBF Child Safety Matters prevention program within Sanilac County schools. The board also amended the Sanilac Area Violence Elimination Council professional services agreement by increasing funding by an amount not to exceed $20,825 for prevention and educational programming in 2025–26. Both actions were moved, seconded and approved by voice votes.
Administration noted both amendments are intended to expand program reach in school settings and authorized the chairman to sign necessary agreements. The board took no additional discussion on the items during the meeting.
