A finance committee member summarized recent committee work and presented a 2027 budget proposal that maintains city services while lowering the mill levy from 84.964 mills in 2026 to 79.798 mills for 2027, a reduction of 5.166 mills.
"Through the diligence of Dallas and Alex and the finance committee, we have arrived at a budget that we maintain the city of the Norton at a revenue rate... while reducing the mill levy from 84.964 mills for 2026 to a new mill levy rate of 79.798 mills for 2027," the committee member said.
