Council schedules public safety meeting after complaints about fast ebikes, e-dirt bikes

"We have 2 different things going on... an ebike with the traditional pedal power has a 750 watt motor or less and a max speed of 20 miles an hour or less... the dirt bikes were doing 40 miles an hour," the officer said, noting outreach is the department’s current primary response. The council scheduled a public safety committee meeting for Aug. 12 at 4:00 p.m. to consider local options including education and ordinance language.
