The Center Cass SD 66 Board of Education voted unanimously Sept. 11 to accept a base bid from Helm for $2,132,000 to replace and operationalize the HVAC system at Lakeview Junior High. The motion was made by Christopher Esposito, seconded by Megan DuPass, and passed 7-0.
Superintendent Dr. Wise told the board the district expected to have all bids for the broader HVAC and control-system work approved within a month and estimated the total related project cost at about $3.5 million. The Lakeview contract accepted at the meeting covers the installation and commissioning phase for that building; further approvals for related control-system work were discussed as part of summer 2025 plans.
The board recorded no dissenting votes. The transcript does not include a project timeline beyond the board's discussion of summer 2025 upgrades and the bid acceptance motion.
